God works in such wonderful ways!
Yesterday, Sheri Elliot and Marcela Rodriguez returned back to the hospital. If you remember we mentioned Marcela in a previous blog. At this time last year she was sitting in the same hospital watching her little girl pass away. Marcela felt she could offer hope to these grieving families.
When they Arrived at the hospital they entered into a large waiting room with 100’s of people..who to talk to? How to find one of the families of the daycare fire? Those were their questions, but God’s plans are so much more in process then ours. As they stood there a man walked up to Marcela…”Don’t I know you?” he asked Marcela. Marcela couldn’t place him. As they talked she explained that she was looking to pray with the families. He said “I am an uncle to one of the little girls, my Sister is upstairs, would you like to go talk to her?” (Them passing the door of the waiting room would have never happened without the help of this gentlemen) The three went upstairs and talked for a while with the mom, there were tears and encouragement, Marcela shared her new faith in Christ. Phone numbers were exchanged, hope was left. This little girl is still in critical condition.
An update on the little boy of the family that Greg talked to is that he has made it to the Shriners hospital in Sacramento. He survived the flight and will now go through the process of receiving specialized help for the burns he has on 80% of his body. God also has instrumented this time as our very good missionary friends Jeff and Leila Roesnpie who serve here with Calvary Chapel are from Sacramento and “just happened” to go home on home assignment. They will be continueing to visit the families and seeing what they can do there in the States to help them.
Thank you for praying with us as God’s plan unfolds. And we step by step participate in it.
In Christ, Shelli
