Just wanted to let you know what all is going on right now in our lives.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
We are preparing for Home Assignment (a valuable part of our ministry – but in Canada) from September to December 2009.\u00c2\u00a0 This is an important time for the ministry God has called us to and we pray that He will make a time of encouragement, growth and rest.\u00c2\u00a0 The biggest part of Home Assignments are being away from our church family here in Mexico.\u00c2\u00a0 The challenges are many when it comes to preparing servants to carry on the ministry in the church.\u00c2\u00a0 Please pray for the areas of:\u00c2\u00a0music ministry, youth ministry and children’s ministry.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
Shelli\u00c2\u00a0is feeling better everyday and is working hard at\u00c2\u00a0the\u00c2\u00a0Summer Kid’s Club\u00c2\u00a0“Circus Circus” which\u00c2\u00a0we\u00c2\u00a0look to God to use to transform the lives of the many many children that will participate, Lord willing.\u00c2\u00a0 These preparations coupled with getting ready to\u00c2\u00a0head to Canada make life interesting!<\/p>\n
Shelli’s mom Wendy\u00c2\u00a0has been here for almost a month to help in the house with Shelli being on the mend.\u00c2\u00a0 We are taking her to Tucson, Arizona tomorrow for her flight home.\u00c2\u00a0 She has been a\u00c2\u00a0huge blessing to us!<\/p>\n
There are some challenges\u00c2\u00a0at the ministry\u00c2\u00a0centre recently.\u00c2\u00a0 We really need to get water and sewer hooked up.\u00c2\u00a0 Last week it looked like it was going to be a done deal\u00c2\u00a0for about\u00c2\u00a0$2000.00CAD.\u00c2\u00a0 When we, Mario and I, went to pay the city\u00c2\u00a0wanted to add on $1600.00CAD more and that we have to buy and bury all the pipe.\u00c2\u00a0 Another $5000.00CAD!\u00c2\u00a0 So once again it has become costly and complicated.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0The worst part is\u00c2\u00a0the tension that the matter has caused\u00c2\u00a0between a couple church members.\u00c2\u00a0 We have\u00c2\u00a0learned much over the years as a church and have decided that, as Christ’s body and as examples in the midst of\u00c2\u00a0corruption being a way of life, we need to do things according to the law and not\u00c2\u00a0through who we know of by “short cuts.”\u00c2\u00a0 This is very counter-culture but honoring to Christ.\u00c2\u00a0 It’s a challenge because few are convinced that\u00c2\u00a0it is even possible\u00c2\u00a0to get\u00c2\u00a0anything done by sticking to the law.\u00c2\u00a0 They may be right looking at it from a human perspective but\u00c2\u00a0I am convinced that\u00c2\u00a0God blesses righteousness and justice.\u00c2\u00a0 So please pray that we’ll somehow get water and sewer (my prayer is that it happens before we head to Canada).\u00c2\u00a0 Thank you!<\/p>\n
You can be praying for the Arbol de Vida congregation as we respond to the tragedy of the 44 kids that died in the fire here last week.\u00c2\u00a0 We have been praying and have visited the hospitals and God is working.\u00c2\u00a0 We hope to help in the long-term as the acuteness of the situation\u00c2\u00a0fades off in the media, etc.\u00c2\u00a0 There will be many needs to meet and we need God’s wisdom and love in how to go about it.<\/p>\n
