Burn camp – please pray!

PRAY, PRAY , PRAY BURN CAMP AND SURGERY

Something to add to your prayer list for this week is our upcoming BURN CAMP FOR CHILDREN.

While you are eating turkey for Thanksgiving, we will be playing at the beach, telling Bible stories and roasting marshmallow with 30 children and their siblings with burns.

As most of you know we have had the privilege to work alongside of the families from the 2009, Hermosillo Daycare fire, where 49 kids passed away and 19 were more severely burnt. We have these 19 and their siblings participating in a camp this weekend, our first ever all weekend camp.

Curtis Anderson and his children’s ministry team from Winnipeg Evangelical Free church along with Jean and Holly Enarsen from New Norway Evangelical Free, Plus a team of 10 Mexicans from Arbol De Vida Evangelical Free church are helping out with the camp. Plus a guest appearance of Joel Sonnenberg.

NOW FOR THE SURGERY PART…

We have a little hiccup as we are preparing for this 3 day camp, picking up teams in Phoenix at the airport etc. It is that Annelise, our daughter, formed a large cyst on the lower part of her back, it is very infected and painful. The Dr. put her on an antibiotic this Monday and wants to do surgery tomorrow to drain it, clean it and cauterize it. You can see that have a surgery while having a team, while planning a burn camp, is a hiccup…pray it could drain on it’s own without the surgery., but if it needs to happen, that God will organize all the timing. Pray for Annelise, she is not scared, but more frustrated with the pain.
