Smiles Burn Camp Report Video!

Over one year ago, God laid on our hearts to invite our SMILES daycare families to Canada;     

       Families we have worked with for the last nine years since the fire.  Our prayer was that God would do incredible things in our 10 days together.  For months we planned and watched God bring in the necessary funds and volunteers.  The day finally came and we welcomed 60 Mexicans to Canada! 11 were our staff from the Arbol de Vida EFC Church in Hermosillo.  We made many plans but what God actually did could never have been planned so perfectly.

So what does it take to make a SMILE???

100’s of financial donours and prayer partners, 60 airplane tickets, 60 warm jackets and gloves with our unexpected September snowstorm, 60 sleeping bags, 15 billeting homes, 1 large touring bus, activity coordinators from pie-making, roping, card-making, art, to pillow-making, rustic sign painting, rocket launching, horses, wall climbing archery and canoeing, several cooks and camp staff, photographers, 3 Olympians, 1 fire department, 60 pairs of skates and helmets for one crazy ice skating experience, 1 school and giant body balls, a police dog demonstration, a bear show visit, 1 awesome Mexican fiesta with a lot of guests plus mariachi band, one trip down the luge track and a visit to the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame, some TimBits, coffee and hot chocolate, tea time with Janette Oke, sport shooting for the men, a turkey dinner and special night out, family devotionals, a prayer of blessing for parents, the acting of the David Story, a crazy Camp director, then we topped it off with the most amazing guest speaker and his family and finally the hand of God moving hearts.  And with all of that you get… a SMILE!!!
