A warm reception!
We thank God for our safe arrival as a family in Hermosillo, Mexico after 3200 kms in 3 days of driving. The trip down to Mexico to prepare for the Olds Koinonia Christian School mission trip went well and wee really enjoyed seeing some friends along the way. Thanks Erin for your hospitality in Park City!
We arrived Sunday afternoon and spent the afternoon visiting the Lane and Shari Elliott and their great kids and then with the Gonzalez family and other in the evening! Monday was full of preparations and catching up with church stuff but the big event was Talson getting all 4 of his wisdom teeth extracted. Please pray that he’s ready for the team that arrives this Saturday as his translation skills will be needed. He is doing really well a couple of days after the traumatic ordeal (actually it went very well but there were a lot of needles involved – not Talson’s favorite thing in the world)..
Yesterday we enjoyed spending a few hours at the “Hacienda de los Arboles” (a retreat centre we are developing for the use of churches in our city) with Reg and Linda Toth from Prince George BC who have given of the last 10 years of their lives (for 6 months every winter) to serve the church of Mexico. Reg built the church building and now has led the building in the retreat centre. It is turning out really nice!!! There were tears of joy and thanksgiving as we reminisced over all God has done through the years here in Hermosillo. God is so good!
Last night, our church family surprised us with a welcome party and we enjoyed the evening with great food and fellowship. We are overwhelmed with all God has done and is doing in Arbol de Vida and for the growth and joy in the church. This Sunday there will, Lord-willing, 7 o 8 new believers will be baptized!!!!!
Thank you for your prayers! To God be the glory!
