OKCS Mission!
Hola everyone!
We just want to thank God for a great week of ministry with the OKCS (Olds Koinonia Christian School) team in Hermosillo last week! Â Here are a few highlights…
Here we (Shelli, Annelise and I) are on the mountain that looks over the city.
Here is the team from OKCS! Â It was an amazing week getting to know and minister alongside these great people!
My, (Greg’s) nephew, Sam, was on the team too, along with many from Talson’s grade 11 class.
Shelli with Eduardo, Cristina and Melissa!
We had a great Sunday afternoon “carne asada” or Mexican bar-b-que with the team out at the Hacienda de los Arboles – a facility that Reg and Linda Toth and many teams from Canada have worked on over the last few years to bless local churches with a place for events (like this one) for a very low cost.
Shelli telling a creative Bible story at the Children’s home in San Pedro… Â Always lots of fun and action!
Martin sharing his testimony in Arbol de Vida!
Trying to understand the Mexican culture and religion.
We spend a few days building relationships at the school where Annelise and Caleb have gone for the last 5 years. Â This school (Instituto HALIL) first opened its doors and its heart to us and the Koinonia groups in 2003. Â We shared Jesus’ love and His Good News with the students through sports and art and a youth night.
Learning more about Mexican culture in the municipal government building with its beautiful murals.
THE highlight for Shelli and I was baptizing our son Caleb!
7 other people declared their desire to follow Jesus through baptism too! Â Awesome!!!!!!
One of the views on the 6400kms (round trip) that we travelled to and from Hermosillo. Â Not the Grand Canyon, but just upstream from it…
I will post this now while it is fresh! Â We thank the many of you who prayed and gave to make this ministry possible. Â We thank God for Shelli’s great health and that He protected the whole team from sickness. Â It was so good to be with our church family for a visit and we are really looking forward to being back home in Hermosillo in July. Â We pray that the seeds of the Gospel planted on this trip will find good ground, water, sun and that they will produce much fruit someday!
¡Que Dios les bendiga! May God bless you!
