Getting back to… normal?
Just thinking of how to state the title of this entry.  Kind of hard to explain that we’re trying to get back into “normal” life and ministry after the amazing time of ministry with the OKCS group, celebrating Easter, time spent camping with our family on a mountain in Arizona that still had snow close to where we camped and a youth trip to Phoenix for a Hillsong United worship concert. The last few weeks haven’t been “normal” but what we want to get back to is far from “normal” too.  Since we are created for eternity and just passing through this world and the short time we have here, I wonder if we, as Christians, should ever expect to arrive at “normal” on this corrupt and dying planet.Â
So, without a good word to describe what we are getting back to… after the whirl of activity we are looking forward to focusing on just being with our church family, meeting relational needs, discipling, preparing for the realities of the next months with us being on home assignment in Canada this fall, preparing leaders so we can pass the different “batons” of ministry/leadership to them as we grow as a church.
Please pray for wisdom for us as we work on some administrative/structural/vision aspects in Arbol de Vida. Please pray for us as we give counsel to marriages and youth specifically. Please pray for God’s provision for water and sewer hook-ups for the church building (we submitted a letter to the mayor of Hermosillo last week and are hoping they will be able to hook us up for much less than the $16,000.00CAD that they quoted us last year). This would take a load of stress off my (Greg’s) mind and schedule. Please pray for wisdom in how to meet the spiritual needs of the many people that heard and responded to the Gospel during the ministry with OKCS.
Thank you again for your encouragment, love and prayer!
In Christ,
Greg
